The Third-party Details Page - Performance Tab

This page shows you detailed information about how each third party affects your site. You can use it to diagnose issues, identify candidates for optimization, and see which of your site's pages the third party is affecting the most.

For Rapid CTRL customers, the Third-party Details page only shows the Performance tab. For Brand CTRL customers, the page also has a Security tab.

You can access this page in several ways: 

  • From the Performance Inventory page, the Services Inventory Page, or Service Flow, click a third party in the list to see the details view. Then click Third Party Details.

  • Click Inventory > Third-party Details and search for or click the third party that you want to view details for.

Page Percent

The percent of your site's pages the third party appears on.

Page Delay Violations

The rate of page delay violationsClosed When a resource that loads before onload takes longer than a set number of milliseconds to load. the third party has caused in the selected time period.

Performance Risk Violations

The rate of performance risk violationsClosed When a resource that loads after onload takes longer than a set number of milliseconds to load. Does not delay page load time, but can affect functionality. the third party has caused in the selected time period.

Load Failure Violations

The rate of load failure violationsClosed When a resource fails to load in the browser. the third party has caused in the selected time period.

Size Violations

The rate of size violationsClosed When a resource, usually an image, is larger than a set number of kilobytes. the third party has caused in the selected time period.

Highlights

The Third-party Information by Page Category chart shows the average loading process for each page category. The horizontal blue bar represents the load time of the third party, while the vertical colored lines show various page load events. In the example above, Bazaarvoice begins loading on the homepage before DOMContentLoaded, onload, or largest contentful paint.

You can use this waterfall view to evaluate whether it would be worthwhile to sequence a third party for a specific page category.

Trends

The first trends graph show how the third party has performed over the selected period. You can use them to monitor how the third party is performing over time. The metrics in the first drop-down include: 

Page Delay Violations The average rate of page delay violations per page caused by the third party.
Performance Risk Violations The average rate of performance risk violations per page caused by the third party.
Load Failure Violations The average rate of load failure violations per page caused by the third party.
Size Violations The average rate of size violations per page caused by the third party.
Last Byte Time The time it takes for the last byte of information for the third party to reach the shopper's browser in response to a network request.
Resource Count The average number of resources that the third party loads.
First Start Time The average time that the first resource of the third party begins loading.
Last Start Time The average time that the last resource of the third party begins loading.
Page Percent The percent of your site's pages that the third party loads on.

The Real-time Data graph gives you up-to-the minute data on the selected metric for the third party. You can use it to monitor how recent changes to the third party (such as optimizations) are affecting the third party's performance and impact on your site.

Diagnostics

Use the first drop-down to select which diagnostics table you want to view. By default, the diagnostics tables display the most recent 20 instances found in the last hour. Click the drop-downs to change these settings.

Resources for [Third Party] Shows the resources that the third party has loaded on your site. Click a resource URL to open it in your browser.
Most Viewed Pages with [Third Party] Shows the most viewed pages on which the third party loads. Click a page URL to open the page in your browser.
Pages with the Most Page Delay Violations Shows the pages on which the third party is causing the highest number of page delay violations. Click a page URL to open the page in your browser.
Pages with the Most Performance Risk Violations Shows the pages on which the third party is causing the highest number of performance risk violations. Click a page URL to open the page in your browser.
Pages with the Most Load Failure Violations Shows the pages on which the third party is causing the highest number of load failure violations. Click a page URL to open the page in your browser.
Pages with the Most Size Violations Shows the pages on which the third party is causing the highest number of size violations. Click a page URL to open the page in your browser.
Where [Third Party] Appears in Your Site's Code Shows the browser's callstack for where in the code the third party was added to your site.
